Good Morning Beauties wherever you are! It is so nice to be back on the blogsphere. There were things going on in my life that caused me to put my blog on the back burner. When I write a post I like to put thought and energy into it. Simply, I don’t like doing a half ass job on anything that has my name attached to it.
The weather if finally warming up here in the Evergreen State and the burn of the sun could not be anymore welcomed!
I took this picture on Monday and that is the first day in awhile that I have done a full face of makeup. I also tried a new method of curling my hair and when I took it out in the morning I thought “What the hell have I done?” and then I fell in love with it. It takes me awhile to get use to even the simplest of hair changes.
Eyes: I used Coastal Scents 120 Palette #5. Let me say this, I was not too impressed with the color pay off. Even after using NYX eyeshadow base the peach color was still very subtle. I have noticed that the colors from the palette either have great color pay off or it is so subtle even after slathering it on.
Lips: I used Jordana’s Easyliner for lips in “Sedona Red” and Wet n Wild’s lipstick in Cherry Picking. Believe me when I tell you that Wet n Wild lipsticks have great pigment! I think they range anywhere from 69 cents (on sale) to $1 and some change.
Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony. I L-O-V-E the pomade. Gives me amazing brows and I don’t have to worry about smudging or fading. My friend Amy of Llewsoba has an amazing review of the pomade up on her blog. I feel like the pomade has been reviewed a lot and her review is in depth with a lot of information and honestly, the best one I have seen. I may be bias because she is a blogging bestie of mine 😉 but she is pretty amazing!!
So, alas, the main reason as to why I have been M.I.A………
I am growing a human!!!!
I am out of the first trimester, zombie phase and finally feel like I am normalizing again. I had posted this pic to my Twitter and Facebook page so follow me on either of those if you want to see what I do everyday in my glamorous (okay, not really) life!! I will write a separate post recapping my first trimester for those pregnant mamas out there xo
Anything new with you?
Today, it’s all about the top…
I was on my way to go see 47 Ronin with my hubby.
This has to be one of my favorite tops…of all time. I got it from Mango on clearance for $4.99. Ladies and Gents, have no fear of the clearance rack.
Winged eyeliner and dark lips to finish the look!
What about the movie? The movie 47 Ronin was a great movie and I really loved the story.
Any movie recommendations?
Target is one of my weaknesses…
While I was searching for more things I don’t need at Target, I found this cute bag. Now, when I am shopping something has to speak to me. I do not buy something just to buy it. I feel as though an item should literally “speak to me”. This bag spoke to me, I listened, and so I bought it. I love the pattern, it reminds me of snake skin. Weird random fact about me, I love snakes!! Naturally, I couldn’t resist this bag. I added the hint of red using a red scarf that I have.
I would actually classify this as a clutch because it is small and the cross body strap is detachable easily making it a clutch.
Benefits of smaller purses:
- Forces you to downsize and carry true essentials
- Light weight
- Easy to carry
- Subtle statement piece
Do you prefer large or small bags?
To say that I am excited that the ’90s fashion trends are in for fall…is a complete understatement.
I went thrift shopping the other day on the hunt for ’90s inspired items, this is the look I found.
The dress and belt are thrift pieces.
I love this outfit! For the fall time, I am planning on piecing it with some tights and some brown leather boots I have.
Dress: Patina Thrift Shop, Belt: Patina Thrift Shop, Flats: Payless, Watch: Anne Klein
Are you excited the ’90s trends are trending again? Do you thrift shop?
X’s and O’s
As soon as I saw this dress, I needed it in my life and on my body…
Firstly, I love the collar of this dress. It is what initially caught my eye.
Secondly, I love the fact that this dress has pockets. It makes it easier for when I am on the go and need to shove my phone and keys in my pocket ( I am always misplacing my phone and keys).
The collar wraps all the way around to the back of the dress. LOVE IT!!
I had originally wore this dress for my graduation with some red heels. Unfortunately, the heels were not as comfortable as I was hoping them to be. I will settle for Tieks any given day though.
Overall I love this dress!! It is one of my favorites and can be worn all year round, which is a total plus for me.
Interested in the dress and shoes?
I purchased the dress from ModCloth, if you are not familiar with them they sell vintage style clothing. You can visit the ModCloth website and find the Coach Tour Dress in Houndstooth there. ModCloth is an amazing site, not just because of their clothes, they also have outstanding customer service. I purchased this dress for my college graduation. When I got it in the mail there was a fain red spot on it. My husband told me “Don’t worry about it, no one can even see it”. I knew it wasn’t that big of a deal and I probably could have gotten the stain out myself, but I paid for it. I contacted ModCloth and told them about the issue. They were extremely nice and understanding and they sent me a brand new dress over night so that I could have it in time for my graduation. A lot of companies don’t have that type of customer service. If they do, it comes with a cost or a headache. I was worry free and had my dress hours before my graduation. ModCloth is definitely a company I enjoy buying from!
I purchased the shoes a few years ago from a ballet flat company called Tieks. Honestly, they are the most comfortable pair of flats I have ever worn and they are beyond durable. I have worn them through all types of weather and all they end of needing is a little buffing. I highly recommend them, visit the Tieks website and stare at their beautiful array of colored and patterned flats. To me, they are well worth the money.
I fell in love with these shorts as soon as I saw them on the rack at JCP. When I purchased them they were on clearance for $4.99 with an extra 25% off of that. The shirt was the same price as well. This is one summer find I am extremely proud of.
Interested in these threads?!
Some of you may ask, where is your bag?
It’s not that I don’t carry one or that I am not into them I just forget to grab it most the time for my pictures. Plus, I just want you to see what threads I am rocking for the day.
What item have you found this summer that you are oh so happy about?!
