Vegemite to Lip Lacquer

Rosie and I decided to do another swap…

New Year Swap Box With Rosie

Look at all this goodness!!!

As I said, Rosie and I decided to keep swapping items every so often and the picture above are items from our most recent swap. We did one during the summer that you can find HERE. Please go pay Rosie a visit at her awesome blog, A Red Lip and A Nude Shoe.

Needless to say I was BEYOND EXCITED when I saw the package from Rosie sitting in my mailbox.

She sent me…

Vegemite – – Awhile ago, Rosie and I started talking about Vegemite. She showed me this video on YouTube of people eating spoonfuls of it and then basically puking afterwards. Me, being the adventurer that I am, asked Rosie to send me some. Not so I could do a Vegemite challenge because that is just stupid. I love to try new things and Rosie assures me it is delicious.

Chi Chi Brights palette – – I have heard nothing but good things about Chi Chi cosmetics and they are an Australian based cosmetics company which means I can’t get them at stores here. Rosie was kind enough to send me a palette and the colors are highly pigmented and gorgeous!! Yes, expect a review!

Lucas PaPaw Ointment – – I l-o-v-e this stuff and so does my skin especially during the winter!! My skin gets super dry during the winter time and this stuff has helped it not become cracked.

Napoleon Lip Lacquer – – Now, I love me some lip gloss and eyeshadow. I can’t wait to try this stuff out! The consistency of it reminds me of OCC lip tar.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Kohl Eyeliner – – Who doesn’t need eyeliner? Eyeliner was the first makeup item I ever bought. I can remember when Avril Lavigne came out and she had her eyes all smokey and I told myself I needed my eyes to look like that. At the time, I seriously thought I looked great…but pictures from back then say otherwise. No worries, I have since then perfected my smokey eye look!!

Jane Iredale Mascara – – This mascara is a mineral mascara and I can’t wait to try it. It is going to go in my ESK kit that Rosie gave me the idea for creating and carrying around. Not sure what an ESK kit is, read about it on Rosie’s blog HERE.

People for Plants Organic Lip Balm – – Everyone needs a good lip balm and I have found that the organic ones provide the best moisture to my lips. I am excited to try this one out when my current one runs out!!

Thank you so much Rosie for all the goodies!! I hope that you enjoy the items I have sent you as much as I have enjoyed yours xo

Take Me to Oz {#1}

Rosie of A Red Lip and Nude Shoe and I have decided to due a series of collaboration posts highlighting Spring in Australia and Fall in the U.S. It fascinates me that we will be going through different seasons and I would love to know what is trending in OZ.

Needless to say, I will be living vicariously through Rosie during the winter months while she enjoys her spring and summer!!

Rosie Says:

How do I love lipstick, let me count the ways…well here’s three at least! Etta and I wanted to do a series of posts about our fabulous lives on either side of the planet and what better way to start then to talk about our favourite seasons autumn and spring. Spring is definitely in the air here in Melbourne. Flowers are blooming and finally people are starting to pop some colour back into their lives, thank god! I got my first pedicure of the season the other day in anticipation of wearing sandals and showing off my tootsies after being in stockings for the last 3 months.

I was so happy to hear during MSFW that bright, vivid colours were in this season (but did they really go out?). These are going to be my go-to lipsticks this spring to add some vibrancy and colour pop to my look.

I’ve seen orange lips are going crazy this season, so this Maybelline lipstick will definitely be in the handbag at all time. What are you favourite colours for this season?

Loving, Loathing, and Lusting (July)

Hello Loves,

It’s the last day in July and , to me, this year is flying by far too fast.

Today , sugar pops, I present to you “Loving, Loathing, and Lusting” which I think is pretty self explanatory. This post is dedicated to things I am loving, loathing, and lusting after.

Let’s start off sweet shall we…

Our son turned 5. It was the best party ever and he had a blast!! It was despicable me minion themed and if you are wondering, yes that cake was divine. We had a huge water slide and bounce house to entertain all the little minions that were running rampant. My husband and I had just as much fun as our son did flying down that slide and crashing into ice cold water. By the time we opened presents, he saw the bowling set and decided it was time to wrap things up and go inside and bowl!!

Now for beauty wise…

loving, loathing, and lusting segment 1.3 1

Khroma Beauty Honeystick in “Blackberry Honey” and Apocalips in “Stellar”. I love these two lip lacquers. The Khroma honeystick is infused with real honey so it smells and yes, it tastes like real honey. It is as smooth as butter, so don’t be put off by the honey that is in it. The Apocalips is amazingly pigmented and is long lasting, I love everything about it. Thank you again Rosie .

Avene Thermal Spring Water. It has saved me many times from these sizzling summer temperatures. I give a quick spritz to my face, arms, and legs (if wearing shorts) and I feel instantly refreshed. If you are interested in more Avene products you can read more about them in my post  “From the Beauty in Germany”

Australis-Neutrals and Neons eyeshadow and eyeliner kit. This pallet is amazing and thank you Rosie for sending me such an amazing product! xo You can use the neutrals on your lids and then line your eyes in neon or be a daredevil and use the neon on your lids as well!

red top

These threads. I love the red, blue, and gold. I simply love everything about it.

OKAY, now for the not so sweet…

LOATHING… DUN DUN DUN (hopefully you got that…)

loving, loathing, and lusting segment 1.1 1

Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder. This didn’t work out for me like I had hoped it would. I read all the reviews and how amazing it was and I thought “I need some of that in my life…” but it definitely wasn’t what I needed. Why? Because it left my skin chalky and it didn’t really help with making my skin look matte. This is the “Translucent” color, so regardless of skin tone it shouldn’t leave your skin looking chalky. I wanted to love it, but as for now I am loathing it.

Now, what am I longing for?

oregon coast

I am craving and longing for the Oregon coast. It is one of my favorite places to be on earth. My husband, son, and I go once a year. Our trip is right around the corner!!

What are you loving, loathing, and lusting?
