Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm

I wasn’t on the hunt for a BB cream. I just happened to stumble upon this one…

Dream Fresh 7

I didn’t get swept up into the BB, CC, DD cream fever when it was going about. I tend not to get too excited over face creams because most the time it is more of an effort to find my shade at the store than it is worth. I heard the amazing effects of BB creams but I had yet to be wow’ed. I tried one from Rimmel and it was just a bit too light causing me to look chalky. I stuck with my bare Minerals powder because it always got the job done and kept my skin looking flawless.

Naturally, when I heard that bare Minerals was releasing a cream I wanted to get my hands on it. If I can, I go down to Sephora and try a product out before I buy it.

I hated the bare Minerals cream foundation.

I didn’t like how it sat on my skin and you could clearly tell I had makeup on. I know, you are probably thinking “Well it is makeup! What more do you want?”. If you have tried bare Minerals then you are well aware that you can’t tell that you are wearing it.  I wanted a liquid foundation that provided sheer coverage and evened out my skin tone.

I was at Wal-Mart the other day and passed by a display of Maybelline’s Dream Fresh BB cream. I first checked to see if they even had my shade because let’s be honest : They don’t provide a wide array of shades most the time.

You can imagine my surprise when the “Deep” shade matched my skin tone perfectly. I tossed it in my cart and couldn’t wait to wear it all over my face!

The above picture is of me after wearing the BB cream for 10 hours. I am really impressed with this BB cream and I will continue to use it. It cost $7.99 and I believe it to be worth a try!

I do like the fact that it has sunscreen in it. With this pregnancy my skin has been all over the place and sometimes it is really dry and the sun only makes it worse. My skin has been nice and moisturized all day and my skin looks more even.

If you know of any products that are safe for use during pregnancy that help even out skin tones let me know!!

Do you have any favorite products from Maybelline?

In the bare Minerals powder my color is N40 and in the Maybelline BB cream I wear the shade Deep.

Lip & Cheek Colors

Nothing beats a good lip and cheek color…

Erzulie lip colors

I really L-O-V-E all these colors but I find myself reaching for Megastar the most because it is actually a gloss and it has a hint of peppermint oil in it!! The other three, Gia, Jesi, and Doris are lip and cheek colors. All of these lip colors are from Erzulie Natural Cosmetics.

Gorgeous right?

You can find these pretty babies:

I do hope you’re having an amazing week. Last week of school for me. I am currently waiting for my Professor to annotate my final research paper so I can correct and wipe my hands clean of this quarter!!!!

NYX Natural Palette

Beauty recommendation of the week…

I have had my eye on this palette for awhile and I finally got my hands on it!!

NYX natural palette stamp

NYX Natural Pallete. Neutral colors that are great for everyday. The best part is that it is affordable, regular price is $6.99 and I got it on sale at Ulta for $5.00.

I believe that these colors can work with a warm or cool skin tone.

Here is the look I created…

I used the third color in the palette (from left to right) all over the lid and than I used the second to the last color on the lid and used the darkest color on the right on the outer corner and part way in the crease.

For my brows I used Benefit’s “Gimme Brow” and for primer I used Wet n Wild’s Fergie Collection Shimmer primer. The primer is amazing and it has quickly become my favorite.

Etta’s Beauty Tip: Neutral colors can be a great addition to your beauty entourage because they allow you to create subtle, soft looks. However, you can also use the darkest color and intensify it to create an easy day to night look.

Princess Collection

Tiana Collage

First and fore most, please excuse my absence. I started back to school (yes, at the University I have been dreaming about for 2 years) and I was sick. I literally was just laying around for about 3 days. I am finally feeling better and I am on the mend. I got caught up with my school work and now I can blog to my heart’s content.

In the above picture I am wearing Star Crushed Minerals shadows in Tiana (yes, as in princess Tiana from the princess collection) and olive pink which is an amazing and versatile color. On my cheeks I am wearing Star Crushed Minerals blusher in Mauve-O-Lous.  I am sorry but I don’t remember what I was wearing on my lips for this look.

Tell me something new that is happening in your life!

I love earth tones…

kat von d look one

I recently purchased one of Kat Von D’s “True Romance” trio eye shadow palette in “Dreamer”. I bought it because I love earth tone colors and have been wanting to try her beauty line. The Sephora in my city had a few of her trio eye shadow palettes on clearance for $10.  On the Sephora website it costs $24. I will repeat myself again, look through the clearance section when you shop it will not hurt!!

The colors are neutral and blend well. You can create a very simple look or make it dramatic by adding the darkest color to your crease, outer corner of your eyelid, and lining the bottom lash line.

Here is the look I created…

Confession: I have used this palette almost everyday since I bought it last Saturday.

I used the middle color on my lid.

The darkest color is part way in my crease and outer corner of lid. I also lined my bottom lash line using the darkest color.

The lightest shimmery color was used on the inner corner of my lid.

I didn’t think I would love this palette as much as I do. I loved the colors, but I wasn’t sure how the colors would go with my skin tone. This has been my go to palette for the past week. I think it is a necessity for a simple everyday look. If you have access to her beauty line, try it!!

Have you tried any of Kat Von D’s products? If so, what do you recommend?  If not, what are you wanting to try?
